Okay, I've completely lost my grip on reality.

Not sure if you guys heard, but a player for the Buffalo Bills ducked his head making a tackle on Sunday. Broke his neck. :(  I just read that that tried an experimental procedure on him where they lowered his body temperature to reduce swelling and damage to the spinal cord while he was ON HIS WAY to the hospital and was started on steroids at the same time. They then operated and removed the fractured disk and fixated his neck with rods and screws.

He MOVED HIS ARMS AND LEGS TODAY!!!  How fucking awesome is that?!?!?!?! :)

What ran through my mind was, "If only the doctor's had known that last fall when Jason Street got hurt?"  WTF?!?!?!?

OTOH, he had an incomplete spinal cord injury.

And that thing about lowering the body temp and using steroids? Cutting edge. That guy's lucky to have a Dr like that handy.

That is indeed awesome news. I've been thinking about him ever since I heard about the accident, but hadn't heard that update. Thank you!

I seriously hope someone on the writing staff is following this, if only because having a bunch of people debate all the facts in a 3 minute scene will be minor love. Or major, depending on the nakedness factor...
