Sources confirm to me exclusively that NBC is engaged in active talks with DirecTV to extend their unique shared-window experiment with Friday Night Lights. But there's a catch -- and it's a good one. According to an insider close to the negotiations, DTV and NBC might only seal the deal if they can get – holy Connie Britton Taylor! -- a two-season pickup.
Though a spokesperson for NBC Universal declined to comment, a Peacock insider acknowledges that the studio is "actively looking at ways to keep FNL going." Another NBC source adds, "We're very optimistic a deal will be worked out."
The one possible complication? The show's behind-the-scenes quarterback, Jason Katims, is attached to NBC's buzzy Parenthood pilot. If it's picked up, he would either do double duty or be forced to make a choice. Similarly, the show's go-to director, Jeffrey Reiner, is helming NBC's Trauma pilot. FNL might be able to carry on without one of its MVPs, but both? Hmm…

One of the many benefits of having watched S3 on DirecTv is that I know when a particularly painful part is coming up and I can change the channel. Case in point: Buddy and squab. Just too painful to watch again.

I was wondering if any of you had a screen cap or icon base of poor Tim's face after he got in the fight at the bar in S1? You know, the black eye and split lip? I would really appreciate it. I've been searching for well over an hour now and while I've enjoyed looking at all the pretty icons, I pretty much give up. LOL!
I need it for an RPG I'm in. We could use some more FNL or other fandom people if you're so inclined to play.

Okay, I've completely lost my grip on reality.
Not sure if you guys heard, but a player for the Buffalo Bills ducked his head making a tackle on Sunday. Broke his neck. :( I just read that that tried an experimental procedure on him where they lowered his body temperature to reduce swelling and damage to the spinal cord while he was ON HIS WAY to the hospital and was started on steroids at the same time. They then operated and removed the fractured disk and fixated his neck with rods and screws.
He MOVED HIS ARMS AND LEGS TODAY!!! How fucking awesome is that?!?!?!?! :)
What ran through my mind was, "If only the doctor's had known that last fall when Jason Street got hurt?" WTF?!?!?!?
